The surrounding areas of Aviemore have an abundance of visitor attractions to suit all interests and ages. A selection of the more popular attractions are shown below, all are located within a twenty minute drive from Strathspey House.
The modern funicular railway takes visitors to the Ptarmigan station near the summit of Cairngorm. The Ptarmigan houses a shop, exhibition and the UK’s highest restaurant – plus an outdoor viewing platform to experience the breath taking panorama.

Join the ranger on the hillside and feed the reindeer or watch them in the paddocks.

Well preserved ruinous infantry barracks dating back to 1719 and burnt by the remnants of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s army after the Battle of Culloden in 1746.

See the huskies in their kennels all year round and learn about the history of sleddog racing. Trips run during late Autumn to early Spring.
